ok so question is how many of u actuallly used this service buying leads from them ?.. i mean seems like they have a great idea and concept BUT i mean at the same time arent those leads being sold multiple times to other contractors?? and the leads are how old on average ? well as i said in " trip report" yes things didnt go as planned and we did get stiffed on money which i expect things like this to happen, when u arent prepared so i blame me for alot of that.. although it does seem like alot of people at the same time enjoy sevice majic as it seems to bring in some nice revunes for folks, some others not so much... but i guess thats with any marketing strategy is a hit or miss... ours was a hit unfortuanlty we took a payday hit alonog with that... as u guys know i was charging 75$ per lead real time, leads were always to be ran next day they were never old... i guess i wanted to ask u guys since i might just travel some with the weather and pitch the idea little better with business owners, so this time im not getting screwed on any money.. so lets breakdown what was agreed from first trip, and yes ive spoke to 2 business owners while i was there that jumped at the bit for the services, but we were being loyal at time and wanted to sell exclusively to those guys Sad..

75$ per lead
150$ per contigiecny signed
50$ day per diem
2% of back end sales, which later turned to 2% of gross profits

i think counting that storm they might have paid little over 3k to me counting per diem, maybe id have to look there was roughly 45 leads, 6 of those were signed that i know of from there sales people, 13 plus were still in pipeline working i believe im sure more now on the ones we didnt even get paid for.. so my thinking now would be since service majic is charging crazy numbers for leads that could be old, and we got screwed on our end.. i was thinking

no per diem this time'
no back end sales %
no contigency unless i feel just to give u one from a laydown at the door

2500$ 35 leads @ 70 lead
5000$ 83 leads @ 60 lead
7500$ 150 leads 50 lead
10000 250 leads @ 40 lead

of course a company knows if u think u can handle 250 leads u better have ALOT of salespeople cause the leads as i said are always set for the following day, but its to much hassle to try and get sales% from a company as now i think i would rather just do it for multiple companys at a time, but never re-sell the lead to anyoone else.. these are just thoguhts as i have from talking to more owners @ the 75$ per lead can cause problems as i found out i neeed more of a structure of understanding of what " consist" of a lead.. but i think tommorow i might call a few more owners that may looked into service majic in the past and just tell them HEY try me out at 75$ per lead for 10 leads and i will give u 5 more free on me.. before u commit a chunk of money on anything.. and sorry i know i was bashed for a fwe things when i first came to this site, but hopefully i will learn alot from u owners and workers as i think u guys really are helpful>

Any 'customer' who uses Service Magic or any other paid lead generation resource deserves to get the hard sell pitch. What do you expect when there's a fee for the lead?

Pay to play...

I researched Servicemagic here awhile back. I didn't find anyone who had anything positive to say about their experience with them. They call me about every 4 months asking if I have changed my mind on using them. I'd play it safe and just generate leads yourself. I have seen a lot of people get screwed when buying leads.

We've been using servicemagic for years and have found we're only successful in certain towns and cities that have homeowners that really care about their property. The customer service is ok compared to some of the other online marketing sites like Renovation Experts and Reliable Remodeller.

I tried the Service Magic lead system for a bit..... I got alot of charges to my credit card for price-shopping customers. Most people I dealt with were after Low Price only, nothing else mattered.

Service Magic leads are not cheap either, a direct-match customer who says they are looking for a roof is an instant $85 ding to your account, whether or not they buy from you. Even if someone is just fooling around and finds your name, sends over their contact info, you get charged $55. Granted, they will take it off your account if you question the validity of the lead, if you jump thru all the right hoops. Still a pain tho for someone just fiddling around to say HI !

Some types of leads are cheaper, but again, you have absolutely NO guarantee that you will get ANYTHING from anyone, and you still pay.

I cancelled my contract and havent regretted it yet.
