I've read several posts here and I'd like to thank you guys for giving me a wealth of knowledge.

I was a sales person for a roofing company and I do have some experience installing roofs but I left that company because they kept changing the pay scale. Now I remember faxing the scope sheet to a so called supplement company but I never inquired as to who it was. I just found a company called Adjuster Busters or Skyscope USA. http://skyscopeinternational.com/contact.html

Has anyone here used that company or any other one to file for supplements? Thanks.

Not sure what your talking about. We file our own supplements. How would an outside company help?

Send in your own supplements. Pointless to use an outside company, unless you are completely incompetent.

Hell, I didn't even know there was such a company. In fact, I'm thinking this is something new, and I smell a spammer.

There are many such companies now that will do supplements for the contractor.
Although expensive they do know ways of getting more money from the insurance company that is due to the contractor.
Lots of items are missed by the adjusters such as kickout flashings and the correct warranty for the existing shingle to name just a couple.
Some have a fee plus a percentage of the amount they get the contractor.
Like them or not they are just part of the ever growing multi billion dollar roofing industry.

sielo_X,
Can you post a link to the Adjuster Buster website. Also, Skyscope appears to be a satellite estimating company and not an insurance supplement company.

Why would you fax your scope sheet to a supplement company, did they also write the estimate?
How would the supplement company know what items to supplement since they already have your scope notes.
Do they go on site and reinspect? Please clarify because this doesn't make any sense at all.

Stormer,
Can you post any links to this service. You seem to know of such companies. Can you expand on the correct warranty for the existing shingle. Are you talking about the manufacture warranty or the contractor warranty?

The service the your describing sounds like a PA company to me.

I actually found the Adjuster Busters company by doing a search on Google but the phone number brings up Sky Scope. After speaking with one of their employees, I think its the same company offering both services. All I did was email them the scope of work from the insurance company and then they measure the roof by satellite. They don't actually go on site. They email me back an estimate that is usually higher than what the insurance company is paying. For example one scope approves the home owner for $10k but the Sky Scope estimate is asking for over $16k. Now I'd like to get the extra $6k but I'm sure the insurance company will negotiate a lower amount or just dismiss the supplement all together.

Like I said, as a sales person, we were told to fax the scopes to a supplement company so we were never trained on how to do that. The company I used to work with was very shady. How do you guys file your own supplements? Is there anything you should or shouldn't do? I mean besides the obvious like trying to defraud an insurance company. Thanks again for your help.

Oh and I'm not a spammer. I don't work for Sky Scope or anyone else other than my own company.

It doesn’t make since to out source your supplement. You can just as easy document any line items the adjuster missed. Use programs such as xactimate or Estimation Pro to build professional supplements, and submit them to the insurance company. I have yet to see any insurance company not except either form.

Farmers Universe states that 94% of 2008 hail & wind claims where supplemented. So learn your allowable expenses “each insurance company has its own criteria” and bill for them. We bill for every thing we do on a job and let the adjuster sort it out. Mr. Green You will find that you can easy increase you project 10 to 20 percent.
