Hello,
I have to jump in here.
In the 11 years that I have roofed in Alaska I have repaired very few Malarkey Legacy's. They bond very quickly in the summer(average temp is 65) and they don't lose their granuals. In the winter we don't have any issues either(even if it is in the low teens the sun still bonds them.) The Highlander line is not SBS modified and I can't remember the last time I installed them. I have not installed Pabco in several years so I really can't comment on them. IKO Sucks(IMO) I have installed them recently and them were sawtoothed and lost a lot of granuals. Very dangerous on a 8/12.

Hmmmmm..i just did a 60sq. roof with the 40yr malarkeys and they sucked it was a 6/12 pitch but had to use ropes because of the granule loss, aanndd the teeth were NOT straight,I admit when they first came out they were awesome shingles but somewhere along the way they got sloppy,so lately i have been using the pabco i dont have the granule or straightness problem...yet. Hmmm ok,your right.Whatever, use your Pabco, they're the best.If you don't like Malarkeys, then why did you use them?

Well I know if I didn't find a material that was up to my standards I would talk my customers out of it.Like Bp,if a customer wanted one of their colors,I would definitely talk them out.Plain and simple. You think of Malarkey the same I think of Pabcos.Who's right?

And if customer was determined with brand? would ya walk or still do the job?the only time i would say NO would be with BP.And for the bond test check a malarkey roof in winter, how easy it is to lift do the same with pabco you will see the diff.
