Hi all!

I'm new to this board and just recently taken a position in the roofing business. Being experienced in sales with other industries I have a question on software specific to flat roofing to help us run our business.

We are a 20 year old commercial roofing company, specializing in industrial and commercial flat roof repair, re-roofing, and to a lesser extent, new construction. As an associate to the owner, a major part of my responsibility is to identify and help implement systems that will help us substantially grow the business over the next few years.

With that in mind, we need to make the jump from a paper system to a digital system for tracking our jobs, employees, sales etc. I am doing the preliminary research to find operations software that fills these needs as well as to help me with job costing, estimation and quotations. Ideally I would like to find a software package specific to flat roofing that will enable us to grow as efficiently as possible

What software systems have the business owners on the board used and what would you recommend we take a closer look at?

We use ServiceCEO at the place that I work.

A friend of mine uses MasterBuilder.

Depends what you are trying to go for.

ServiceCEO is good if you do many hourly service calls, but not so good for big jobs only.

I use Xactimate but it's set up mainly for adjusters and insurance restoration companies.

You can factor in every aspect of everything associated with roofing in every shape and form. You can figure just labor, materials, on and off, etc. Roofing is about 1/2 a percent of what the software can offer.

$1,650 a year gets you set up with two installs and when I bought it last Spring they were offering a one month trial but the prices were not totally accurate.
One adjuster told me that flat roofing didn't pay that much so do your research before thinking about buying this software. Used it on a few flat jobs and they pay was ok.

The biggest advantage is that most big insurance companies use it so when I submit an estimate I'm speaking their language. When I write an estimate I'm very thorough which usually lands $1-4K more per roof, and most insurance companies pay it.

It seems that the two answers above were primarily for residential or shingle work. We do not do any of that. I'm looking for something that will help with flat commercial roofs, from tallying the field measurements to calculating job costs and creating proposals. Once the sale is made, then we will be using Quickbooks for the business financials.

Has anyone here used "RooferPro" or "RoofLogic"????

Look up the profile for one of our posters named "Cerberus" (you can find some recent work by him under the "construction & technique" tab). He is a commercial waterproofing (read: flat roofing) consultant & he may be able to tell you what some of his clients are using.

Note: he is NOT a salesperson any longer - he's specifically a consultant on these projects & IMO has the best reputation on here for larger commercial applications.

Hydro's post regarding his direction with adding a new roofing management software is exactly where I am currently finding myself. I'd appreciate any updates or people's opinions on the current roofing company management utilities available. I'm looking at RooferPro, RoofLogic, ServiceCEO, and DataForma. Should I be interested in others?
